Workday Developer / Integration Specialist

Salary: £104,000 - 104,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven hands-on experience building Workday Extend applications
• Strong experience with Custom Business Objects
• Experience developing native Workday UI using PMD / Canvas
• Experience with Business Process Framework (BPF) triggers
• Strong hands-on experience designing and building Workday Orchestration
• Experience with outbound REST API integrations
• Experience with inbound / receive orchestrations
• Experience with asynchronous integration patterns
• Strong practical knowledge of Workday SOAP and REST APIs
• Experience with OAuth 2.0
• Experience with WS-Security
• Experience with Integration System Users (ISUs)
• Experience with EIB and RaaS
• Experience integrating Workday with third-party REST APIs
• Experience with authentication and data mapping
• Experience with error handling and retry mechanisms

• Good understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C)

Responsibilities:

• Design and build integrations between Workday and external APIs/SaaS platforms
• Develop Workday Extend applications
• Build native Workday user experiences using PMD / Canvas pages
• Work with Custom Business Objects
• Use Business Process Framework (BPF) triggers against Workday objects such as customers, suppliers, and invoices
• Design and build Workday Orchestration flows
• Make outbound REST API calls from Workday
• Build inbound / receive orchestrations
• Handle asynchronous API integrations using receive orchestrations, webhooks, and/or polling
• Map Workday Financial Management objects to external API data models
• Implement secure authentication and communication between Workday and external platforms
• Build robust error handling, retry, and failure-management mechanisms
• Handle integration edge cases including API failures, timeouts, duplicate requests, and partial processing
• Test integrations end-to-end
• Document integration architecture, configuration, and operational processes
• Collaborate closely with software engineers to agree API contracts and integration patterns

This is a hands-on engineering and delivery role focused on Workday Financial Management integrations, Workday Extend, Workday Orchestration, and APIs. The wider engineering environment includes Go, Node.js, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes, though deep Workday development and integration expertise is the key requirement. The role is hybrid remote in London, with pay up to £400.00 per day.
