SC Cleared Test Engineer

Salary: £56,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• Proven experience with functional testing, integration testing, system testing, and regression testing.
• Experience creating and executing detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
• Strong API testing experience.
• Scripting experience for test automation and validation activities.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to cloud-based environments.
• Knowledge of performance or non-functional testing.
• Relevant testing certifications such as ISTQB or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing across complex software solutions.
• Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of test automation frameworks and automated test suites.
• Conduct API testing to validate system integrations and service functionality.
• Create and maintain test scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
• Promote quality assurance best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

This opportunity is available on either a permanent or contract basis and would suit a proactive testing professional with a strong background in both manual and automated testing. The role offers a contract rate of £350.00 P.D (Inside IR35) or a permanent salary of £45,000 - £65,000. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and comfortable working collaboratively in a dynamic Agile environment, with a passion for delivering reliable software and continuously improving testing practices.
