Communications Test Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £70,000 - 110,000 per year
Requirements:- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
- 2+ years of experience with RF measurement and instrumentation
- 2+ years of programming experience using Python
- Hands-on digital and RF measurement experience, including analyzers, vector signal generators, power sensors, and network analyzers
- Hands-on link-performance measurement experience, including link/protocol testers and channel emulators
- Experience with physical-layer satellite modem algorithms and standards such as DVB-S2 and CCSDS
- Experience in collaborative software design, including Git and code reviews
- Experience in test automation
- Experience with Linux and Windows
- Experience in statistical analysis and metrology
- Own integration and verification of space-communication systems involving digital and analogue hardware
- Develop and manage setups and test software for modem and link verification at both the baseband and RF levels
- Define, design, implement, and maintain measurement and test solutions for link and modem validation
- Define and analyze calibration and metrology aspects, including statistical error analysis, confidence levels, and error budgets
- Develop modular, reusable software in Python or similar languages for use in a variety of setups
- Analyze and troubleshoot link-performance issues
- Work with DSP, hardware, and software teams to improve system performance
