Technical Business Analyst - Digital/Software Engineering

Requirements:

• Proven experience in business analysis / requirements engineering across systems and software
• Strong knowledge of requirements elicitation, management, traceability, and change control
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles
• Strong knowledge of requirements management tooling, such as DOORS-type tools or equivalents
• Background delivering within aerospace and defence environments, including MOD, Defence Digital, or UK aerospace
• Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and communication skills
• Active SC clearance, with DV advantageous
• Experience working in regulated development environments is desirable
• TOGAF and/or ArchiMate is desirable
• Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or digital engineering concepts is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Capture, analyse, document, and maintain system and software requirements
• Manage baselines, change requests, and impact assessments
• Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability across lifecycle artefacts
• Support requirements decomposition and allocation activities
• Participate in reviews, validation, and verification activities
• Coordinate with software development, systems engineering, and V&V teams
• Support governance activities including audits and traceability reviews
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve requirements-related issues

We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to support digital engineering and software engineering activities across sensitive MOD and aerospace programmes. The role is based in Reading, Berkshire (RG2) in a hybrid working arrangement, with a rate of up to £68.80 per hour. We take ownership of requirements definition and governance across the engineering lifecycle, ensuring full traceability from stakeholder need through to implementation and verification.
