Safety and Security Support Engineer

Salary: £68,000 - 108,000 per year

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in security systems engineering.
• Background as a CCTV Engineer, IP CCTV Engineer, Install Engineer, or Service Engineer.
• Experience in VMS configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of IP-based cameras, networking fundamentals, and video management systems.
• Background in electrical engineering, IT networking, or a related field is preferred.
• Genetec certification and camera manufacturer-specific training are preferred, and training opportunities can be provided.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A proactive, can-do attitude.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Flexibility to work shifts and travel to client sites when required.

Responsibilities:

• Support, fault resolution, and configuration of VMS cameras and associated hardware.
• Ensure proper cabling and network connectivity for all devices.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on VMS systems.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Monitor system performance and implement upgrades or adjustments as needed.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and client requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all asset changes, repairs, and configuration changes.
• Assist with provision of detailed reports on system health and incident resolutions.
• Act as the onsite support point of contact for internal SOC and IT/Network teams.
• Provide instruction and guidance on system usage and best practices when required.
