Job Description

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with experience delivering in a commercial setting.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python or Java programming languages and frameworks.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot design and functionality issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in real-time and handle technical issues with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-technical colleagues to understand and address business needs.
  • Ability to self-drive delivery and take ownership end to end.
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Practical cloud native experience.
  • Financial industry experience and familiarity with investment banking products, such as fixed income and derivatives.
  • Comfort working across full stack development, particularly with React.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies using AWS.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration (K8s).
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, enhance, and support our Trade Execution Platform, which is critical to trading and other business activities.
  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing consistent validation standards and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Contribute to the wider team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Work as part of an agile team to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.
  • Conduct critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.
