Senior Data Scientist

Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• Commercial mindset with a focus on business impact, revenue, efficiency, or customer outcomes
• Proven ability to partner with commercial, marketing, and product stakeholders and communicate clearly at all levels
• Strong judgement in choosing between classical ML, GenAI, and simpler solutions, with an eye for scalability, reliability, and explainability
• Strong track record of building, deploying, and maintaining ML models in Python in a production environment
• Comfortable owning the full production lifecycle, including model training, versioning, monitoring, and champion/challenger experimentation
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered solutions that deliver measurable business value
• Solid experience in a cloud ML environment with software engineering principles, including version control, code reviews, unit testing, and familiarity with containerisation
• Strong foundation in statistical evaluation and experiment design
• Bonus: experience with marketplace or two-sided platform dynamics
• Bonus: experience with Vertex AI

Responsibilities:

• Lead data science initiatives from problem framing through deployment, monitoring, and iteration
• Design and build LLM-powered solutions for document processing, intelligent search, content understanding, and other business use cases
• Deliver work that connects directly to business outcomes such as marketing efficiency, pricing signals, and conversion improvements
• Move fast to prototype and experiment, define success metrics, validate results, and decide when to scale or stop
• Work closely with Commercial, Marketing, Product, Finance, Engineering, and Operations stakeholders to understand problems and translate findings into actionable narratives
• Contribute to shared best practices, documentation, and ways of working that strengthen the data science function
• Support the growth of more junior team members
• Drive continued adoption of AI capabilities to improve efficiency and automation
