Requirements:

• Deep technical expertise in Zscaler ZIA and ZPA, with CASB desirable
• Deep technical expertise in identity integration, including Entra ID, SSO, SCIM, and Conditional Access
• Deep technical expertise in Azure IaaS and networking, including VPN Gateway, routing, and connectivity design
• Strong working knowledge of enterprise networking, including routing, switching, and firewalls
• Strong working knowledge of security operations, logging, and SIEM integration
• Proven experience leading engineering teams across infrastructure, network, and security transformations
• Strong data handling capability, including advanced Excel for engineering control and analysis
• Ability to operate effectively within ambiguous, evolving technical environments
• Strong knowledge of Excel for data analysis

Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Infrastructure and Network Engineering teams, guiding resolution of technical issues and design challenges
• Provide subject matter expertise across Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, CASB, and Azure
• Review relevant Zscaler designs and act as the escalation point for technical migration challenges
• Work with the PM to plan and oversee execution of the proxy migration workstream across both on-premises and Azure estates
• Manage technical delivery of migration waves, cutover activities, and rollback planning
• Ensure minimal service disruption and alignment with security standards
• Coordinate interdependencies with infrastructure, application, and network teams
• Own and govern the core engineering dataset supporting migration
• Develop and maintain technical artefacts and engineering controls to support engineering decision-making
• Provide technical assurance and reporting into the project manager
• Identify and manage technical risks, issues, and constraints
• Ensure consistency and quality across project engineering outputs
• Deliver technical server migration control datasets
• Maintain and validate the migration dataset
• Produce technical progress reporting covering status, risks, issues, and dependencies
• Support successful migration of in-scope services to ZIA
• Complete post-migration validation and issue resolution

We are looking for a Zscaler Engineer to join our Cyber team on a contract basis to provide technical leadership for the migration of web proxy services from a legacy Trend solution to Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA). The role is based in Preston with ad hoc travel to site and is mainly remote. The contract duration is 6 months with a day rate inside IR35. We will need someone who can coordinate engineering teams, support data-driven technical planning, and help ensure successful migration execution within a structured delivery environment.
