Security Operations Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require experience in designing and developing enterprise cyber security strategy and architecture.
• We require the ability to evaluate security requirements by assessing business strategies and conducting system security vulnerability and risk analyses.
• We require experience identifying risks associated with business processes, information security programs, and technology projects.
• We require the ability to identify and communicate current and emerging security threats and design security architecture elements to mitigate them.
• We require experience identifying security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommending changes or enhancements.
• We require product best-fit analysis experience covering layered security, zoning, integration, API, endpoint security, data security, compliance, and regulations.
• We require experience with security assessments against NIST Frameworks, SANS, CIS, and similar standards.
• We require support experience during technical deployment, configuration, integration, and administration of security technologies.
• We require familiarity with ITIL or process-oriented domains such as incident management, configuration management, change management, and problem management.
• We require the ability to support disaster recovery in the event of security breaches, attacks, intrusions, or unauthorized activity.
• We require experience responding to client RFPs and ensuring overall design assurance.
• We require the ability to analyze technology environments, enterprise specifics, and client requirements to set a collaboration design framework or architecture.
• We require the ability to create complete RFPs based on client needs, standards, and technology stacks.
• We require technical leadership experience in the design, development, and implementation of custom solutions.
• We require the ability to define current-state solutions, identify improvements, and assess options and tradeoffs for target-state solutions.
• We require the ability to articulate architectural targets, recommendations, reusable patterns, and investment roadmaps.
• We require experience evaluating and recommending solutions that integrate with the overall technology ecosystem.
• We require awareness of industry and application trends and the ability to relate them to current and future IT needs.

Responsibilities:

• We design and develop our enterprise cyber security strategy and architecture.
• We assess security requirements by evaluating business strategies and conducting system security vulnerability and risk analyses.
• We identify risks associated with business processes, operations, information security programs, and technology projects.
• We identify and communicate current and emerging security threats and design security architecture elements to mitigate them.
• We identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.
• We provide product best-fit analysis to ensure end-to-end security across architecture layers.
• We provide support during technical deployment, configuration, integration, and administration of security technologies.
• We assist with disaster recovery in the event of security breaches, attacks, intrusions, or unauthorized activity.
• We provide solutions for client RFPs and ensure overall design assurance.
• We develop direction for managing the portfolio of to-be solutions across systems, shared infrastructure services, applications, and hardware related to cyber risk security.
• We analyze technology environments, enterprise specifics, and client requirements to set a collaboration design framework or architecture.
• We create complete RFPs according to client needs, standards, and technology stacks.
• We provide technical leadership for the design, development, and implementation of custom solutions.
• We define current-state solutions and identify improvements, options, and tradeoffs to shape target-state solutions.
• We articulate architectural targets, recommendations, reusable patterns, and investment roadmaps.
• We evaluate and recommend solutions that integrate with the overall technology ecosystem.
• We track industry and application trends and relate them to current and future IT needs.
• We liaise with stakeholders on cyber security issues and provide timely support and recommendations.
• We help maintain the information security risk register and support internal and external audits.
• We support audits of security best practices and implementation of security principles across the organization.
• We help create, maintain, and deliver cyber security awareness training to team members and customers.
• We train employees on issues such as spam and unwanted or malicious emails.
• We support customer centricity by providing timely security breach solutioning and guidance.
• We support the sales team by helping create winning proposals and identifying opportunities to sell services within or outside the account.
