Requirements:

• We require hands-on experience at SFIA Level 4 or equivalent across Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Lake.
• We require strong experience supporting and developing Azure cloud-based platforms and applications.
• We require experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• We require experience with Azure DevOps, GitLab or similar DevOps tooling.
• We require Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code experience.
• We require strong Terraform experience.
• We require experience working within Linux, Unix and Windows environments.
• We require strong scripting experience using PowerShell, Bash or similar.
• We require experience supporting and automating cloud infrastructure.
• We require experience implementing and maintaining monitoring and alerting solutions.
• We require experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor or Log Analytics.
• We require proven experience working within Agile DevOps environments.
• We require Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment experience.
• We require experience working across Scrum and/or Kanban delivery teams.
• We require the ability to work independently on complex technical issues.
• We require experience supporting, mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
• We require strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• We require demonstrable ownership and accountability for technical delivery.

Responsibilities:

• We design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains.
• We build and automate Azure-based infrastructure and platform services.
• We support Azure Data Platform services across multiple environments.
• We work with product and engineering teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions.
• We develop Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code solutions.
• We provision environments and support operational issues.
• We drive engineering best practice, automation and platform improvements.
• We support proof of concepts, innovation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• We mentor and support engineers within Agile delivery teams.

We are offering a contract Azure DevOps Engineer role inside IR35 at £380 per day. The role is remote, with one day per month in either Newcastle or Leeds. We are looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to support our central government clients Azure Data Platform team, helping to build, automate, enhance and support cloud-native platforms and DevOps capabilities across a complex Azure estate. You will work closely with engineering and delivery teams in an Agile environment, with a focus on resilient, scalable and highly available solutions and an automation-first mindset.
