Programme Management Lead

Requirements:

• Proven experience establishing or transforming a PMO within a complex programme or portfolio environment.
• Strong programme controls expertise, including risk, dependency, assurance, benefits and change management.
• Experience delivering technology-enabled change programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• Relevant qualification such as MSP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, ChPP, MoP or equivalent.
• Experience within government, public sector or other large, complex organisations.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and lead the programme PMO, defining governance, controls and reporting frameworks.
• Develop and maintain programme controls including planning, RAID management, change control and benefits tracking.
• Produce high-quality reporting and insights for senior leadership and programme boards.
• Manage governance processes, assurance activities and decision-making forums.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary PMO team.
• Support business case development, approvals and assurance reviews.

We are seeking an experienced Programme Management Lead to establish and lead the PMO for a high-profile transformation programme within a large public sector organisation. This is a 6 month contract role inside IR35, with a location in London, Bristol or Manchester and onsite attendance once a week. The role involves creating and embedding effective governance, reporting, assurance and programme controls, ensuring senior stakeholders have clear visibility of programme performance, risks, dependencies, benefits and resource requirements.
