Senior IIoT and SCADA Engineer

Salary: £37,000 - 77,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related technical discipline; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
• We prefer industry certifications related to operational technology, industrial automation, cloud platforms, systems engineering, or networking.
• We require 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting operational technology, telemetry, industrial automation, or systems integration solutions.
• We require experience implementing enterprise telemetry platforms and integrating operational systems with enterprise applications and cloud services.
• We require experience designing and troubleshooting complex operational technology or telemetry solutions in highly available environments.
• We require experience developing technical documentation, implementation standards, and engineering diagrams.
• We require experience mentoring technical staff and providing engineering leadership on complex technical initiatives.
• We require working knowledge of industrial communication protocols, systems integration principles, networking concepts, and operational data collection technologies.
• We require knowledge of enterprise telemetry platforms, operational technology systems, systems integration, and operational data acquisition principles.
• We require knowledge of Ignition SCADA, Niagara Framework, MQTT telemetry architectures, industrial protocols, EPMS/BMS platforms, SQL-based data platforms, historian systems, OT/IT network infrastructure, telemetry data modeling, large-scale multi-site OT telemetry deployments, data center infrastructure systems, ISA-95, IEC 62443, cloud IoT platforms, and system integration, commissioning, and operational monitoring.

Responsibilities:

• We design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise telemetry platforms and operational technology solutions supporting operational data acquisition and monitoring.
• We lead the engineering and technical implementation of complex telemetry initiatives, translating architectural designs into scalable and supportable solutions.
• We integrate operational technology systems with telemetry platforms, enterprise applications, and operational data services.
• We develop, configure, and maintain telemetry models, alarming strategies, data collection methods, and system integrations supporting operational visibility.
• We troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues affecting telemetry platforms, operational data collection, and systems integration.
• We collaborate with Operational Technology Architecture to implement reference architectures, technical standards, and platform improvements.
• We produce and maintain technical documentation, engineering diagrams, implementation standards, and operational procedures supporting telemetry platforms.
• We mentor engineers and provide technical leadership during solution design, implementation, and operational support activities.
• We evaluate new technologies, software capabilities, and engineering approaches to improve platform reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
• We support platform lifecycle activities, including upgrades, modernization initiatives, capacity planning, and continuous improvement efforts.
