Python & AWS Software Engineer - Data Science Focus

Salary: £60,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong Python development experience, ideally with exposure to libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience building data pipelines and working with structured and unstructured data.
• Experience working with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, EC2, RDS, and Glue.
• A solid understanding of statistics and applied mathematics.
• The ability to understand, interpret, and extend complex algorithms and business logic.
• A strong grounding in software engineering principles, including testing, code quality, and design patterns.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.
• Experience working with time-series, geospatial, sensor, or other complex datasets.
• Exposure to machine learning or deploying ML models into production.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• AWS certifications would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop data pipelines, ETL processes, and backend services using Python.
• Build and maintain APIs and microservices that deliver data products to internal and external users.
• Work with large and complex datasets.
• Implement and deploy machine learning models and statistical analysis into production environments.
• Design and manage AWS cloud infrastructure to support data and application workloads.
