Requirements:

• Exceptional organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage high-volume inventory projects
• Proficient with spreadsheets, such as Excel or Google Sheets, and databases, maintaining detailed, error-free records
• High accuracy in recording technical specifications and serial numbers
• Physically capable of handling, lifting, and sorting computer hardware and peripherals daily in a warehouse or office environment
• A proactive self-starter with a commitment to a structured, organised workspace
• Confident communicator, able to give clear updates on inventory progress

Responsibilities:

• Carry out a comprehensive physical audit of all IT hardware on site, including workstations, peripherals, and networking equipment
• Create and maintain accurate digital records in a central inventory database, tracking every item by serial number and specification
• Categorise equipment for its next stage: retain, repurpose, or recycle/dispose
• Work closely with the onsite enablement team and project engineers to support decommissioning tasks, ensuring all assets are accounted for prior to site closure
• Organise the physical movement of assets and prepare hardware for secure transport or disposal collection
• Provide clear, regular progress updates to IT leadership and project managers

We are supporting a major site consolidation and integration project in the Glasgow area and are looking for an IT Asset Specialist to join us on a 3-month initial contract, working fully onsite. This is a hands-on role, inside IR35, with a rate of up to £40 per hour. You will play a critical part in the secure transition and decommissioning of legacy IT hardware, helping us ensure all assets are accurately recorded, categorised, and prepared for their next use, repurposing, or ethical disposal.
