Principal Statistical Programmer

Salary: £55,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require candidates to be located in the US, Canada, or the UK, with no sponsorship needs.
• We are hiring at the senior level only for North America.
• We require significant ADaM specification-writing experience.
• We require significant SAS graph experience.
• We require an undergraduate degree, preferably in a scientific or statistical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated programming experience.
• We require extensive programming experience in SAS or other required software, preferably in a clinical trial environment.
• We require excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• We require the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities:

• We use SAS or other software to develop custom programming code to generate summary tables, data listings, graphs, and derived datasets according to the statistical analysis plan and programming specifications.
• We ensure outputs meet quality standards and project requirements.
• We perform validation programming and collaborate with programmers, biostatisticians, and other project team members to resolve discrepancies and findings.
• We keep project team members informed of programming progress and issues requiring attention.
• We follow applicable SOPs, work instructions, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
• We maintain well-organized, complete, and up-to-date project documentation, testing, verification, and quality control records to ensure inspection readiness.
• We manage scheduling and time constraints across multiple projects, set goals based on management priorities, and adapt to changing timelines or priorities by reorganizing daily workload.
• We develop specifications for datasets and outputs of any complexity according to statistical and sponsor requirements.
• We prepare for internal meetings, contribute ideas, and show respect for the opinions of others.
• We conduct effective internal meetings, distribute relevant information in advance, ensure minutes are promptly distributed, and follow action items through to completion.
• We work with others and assist with projects and initiatives as needed to meet business needs.
• We negotiate and establish accurate time estimates for study programming activities and complete programming work within the allotted timeframe.
• We act as the lead statistical programmer, directing the programming activities of other programmers and monitoring deliverables.
• We review project documentation such as the Statistical Analysis Plan, mock shells, programming specifications, annotated CRFs, and SAS database design, and provide feedback to project team members.
• We participate in sponsor meetings, kickoff meetings, and bid defense meetings as the statistical programming representative when required.
• We contribute to mentoring programming personnel through training, presenting materials, reviewing work, and guiding new associates.
• We transfer deliverables.
• We perform other work-related duties as assigned.
