1st Line Helpdesk Engineer

Salary: £25,000 - 30,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with previous experience in a 1st Line Support or Helpdesk role.
• We need strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• We need a good understanding of Windows 7, 10 and 11.
• We need experience with Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Group Policy and Office 365, including Exchange, OneDrive and SharePoint.
• We need a basic understanding of Azure and networking principles such as DNS, DHCP and IP addressing.
• Experience with antivirus solutions such as Sophos would be beneficial.
• Previous experience supporting Mac environments would be beneficial.
• We need someone who is confident communicating with customers.
• We need someone who is well organised and able to prioritise their workload.

Responsibilities:

• We are the first point of contact for users experiencing IT issues.
• We provide support via phone, email and remote access.
• We diagnose and resolve issues where possible and escalate more complex problems to the wider technical team.
• We support users across Windows and Microsoft Office 365.
• We maintain IT documentation and knowledge bases.
• We provide a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
• We participate in an on-call rota providing 24-hour support.

We are recruiting for a 1st Line Helpdesk Engineer to join our growing IT services team based in Basildon, Essex. This is a permanent role offering a salary of £25,000 to £30,000 per annum, with hybrid working available after probation. The role is office-based five days a week for the first three months, then moves to a hybrid pattern with two days working from home.
