Security & Resilience Lead

Salary: £50,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with a strong track record leading cyber security, ideally in a scale-up or startup environment with software experience rather than a large established enterprise.
• You should have hands-on experience owning a vulnerability management and penetration testing programme, including risk assessing vulnerabilities and integrating them into a technical roadmap.
• You need strong knowledge of logging, monitoring and threat detection, including continual configuration of existing toolsets and assessment of new tooling.
• You must be able to communicate risk clearly with non-technical stakeholders and work confidently with stakeholders at every level.
• You should be pragmatic, commercially aware, calm under pressure, highly organised, decisive, collaborative, curious, focused on continuous improvement, and operate with a high level of integrity.
• We need someone who can work in the UK and meet the roles eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities:

• We work with technical teams to review the security impact of technology changes and ensure security controls are met before production releases.
• We ensure environments are configured securely, verify controls, and oversee technical change so access and data are handled appropriately.
• We monitor threat intelligence for company exposure, review emerging threats, and share relevant intelligence with stakeholders.
• We lead the response to security incidents, coordinate investigations and root cause analysis, and produce clear reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• We own our security monitoring capability, ensuring effective logging across key platforms while improving detection and reducing alert storms and false positives.
• We own the penetration testing and vulnerability management programme, risk-assess findings, prioritise remediation, and work with tech teams to close issues.
• We promote secure development practices and work closely with developers to embed security into the way they build.
• We test security alerts, validate backup integrity, and coordinate business continuity and disaster recovery testing to strengthen organisational resilience.
