ABOUT THE ROLE

Prose is looking for a Scientific Communication Manager to shape the brand's scientific storytelling and claims strategy. Sitting at the intersection of R&D, Brand, Innovation and Digital Product, this person will be the driving force behind a stronger, sharper scientific culture at Prose - translating complex research into compelling, credible, and differentiating content, while ensuring every claim we make is substantiated.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for someone who is equal parts scientist, storyteller, and strategist. The role reports to the Director of Scientific Affairs & Sustainability within the Prose Science Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATION STRATEGY

• Shape Prose's global scientific communication strategy, aligned with brand positioning and priorities.

• Establish the narrative structure and tone of voice that define our scientific authority across the key communication territories and ingredients that set us apart

• Translate ingredient information and product testing data into clear, engaging narratives and claims

• Act as a creative catalyst on new ingredients, technology, and testing communication opportunities.

TECHNICAL & CLAIMS DOSSIERS

• Review and approve final test results, providing technical interpretation in collaboration with partner teams.

• Build and maintain robust technical and scientific dossiers for new product launches and renovations (literature reviews, scientific territories, active ingredients, performance test results).

• Support the preparation of oral presentations, posters, and peer-reviewed articles when relevant.

SCIENTIFIC & COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE

• Maintain active scientific and competitive watch to identify new technology, ingredients, communication territories (longevity, exposome, microbiome…) and claims opportunities.

• Prospect new raw materials, biological targets, and technologies through supplier relationships (in partnership with the R&D team) and competitive/technical intelligence.

• Stay at the forefront of cosmetic trends, both from a marketing and a scientific standpoint, to provide marketing teams with structuring and differentiating strategic input.

SCIENTIFIC CULTURE & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

• Infuse a strong scientific culture across the organization - building dialogue and proximity between science and non-scientific teams.

• Partner closely with R&D, Marketing, CX and Digital Product to ensure product claims and launch concepts are scientifically accurate and consistent, review all the communications assets and supports and answer ad hoc scientific and technical questions to support their day-to-day work

• Work closely with the Evaluation team to coordinate clinical, instrumental, and consumer testing, and help design differentiating, creative claims approaches.

• Partner with regulatory affairs to ensure substantiation needs are met and test platforms address all product claims.

• Effectively articulate highly technical or complex scientific concepts to audiences with varying levels of scientific literacy.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Strong scientific/technical background (cosmetic science, dermatology, biology, or related field), with the ability to move fluidly between deep science and brand storytelling.

• 5 to 10 years of experience in scientific communication, claims substantiation, or R&D-marketing liaison roles, ideally in beauty/cosmetics or a related regulated industry.

• Strong appetite for AI tools and agentic AI, with a genuine curiosity for experimenting with several AI-amplified projects

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French a plus, given cross-team collaboration).

• A creative thinker who challenges the status quo and looks for differentiating angles, not just correct ones.

• Solution- and business-oriented mindset - resourceful in finding answers when data isn't readily available.

• Comfortable as both a strategic thinker and a hands-on doer; flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• A natural team player and cross-functional leader, able to build trust with scientific and non-scientific stakeholders alike.

• Rigorous, tenacious, results-oriented, with strong project management skills.
