About TaxDome

Most companies are still debating what AI means for design. At TaxDome they've already rebuilt everything around it. This role exists to lead and shape AI native design org.

Here's what that looks like in practice. Their design system lives in GitHub and acts as the source of truth for AI agents that generate production-ready code. A designer takes an idea from concept to production after a lightweight engineering check. They iterate and review against live, production-grade prototypes — not static screenshots. And nobody here ships isolated features: every designer owns their experience end to end, across their whole domain.

What you'll be responsible for

  • The design system and AI-native workflows — your primary focus. You'll own the design system as a product: its roadmap, the bar for new patterns, and how it scales across a complex multi-surface platform. You'll keep it healthy as the source of truth for the AI pipeline, so new components land in the right place, in the right repository, available to everyone who needs them. You'll keep AI the default mode of work rather than a side project, push the prototype-to-production loop further than it goes today, and think about AI across the seams — so designer-to-engineer and designer-to-product handoffs get genuinely faster and better.

  • People leadership. You'll lead roughly 8 senior UX Architects — 4–5 at staff level — each embedded in a product domain. You'll set growth paths, calibrate quality decisions, set the bar, and unblock staff-level ICs in everything they do. You'll hire and retain strong people in a market where this profile is still rare. The trajectory of this team and the work it ships is your primary measure of success.

  • UX quality and design accountability. You'll build the processes that make quality non-negotiable — so work arrives at design review fully thought through, and reviews carry real weight rather than becoming a formality between colleagues. You'll define what healthy UX looks like in each domain and make it measurable, and you'll cultivate genuine end-to-end ownership, where every architect answers for their area from discovery through post-release analysis.

  • Strategic collaboration. You'll sit on the VP of Product's leadership team, alongside the heads of Product, Analytics, and Research. From there, your influence extends beyond the design org: you'll work with Engineering, Marketing, and the CPO to bring design thinking into how the whole company builds. And you'll keep priorities, progress, and results visible — communicating openly is how this team operates.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 6+ years on complex B2B or platform products. You've operated at a scale where design decisions compound over the product lifecycle, and non-linear, enterprise-grade UX is your natural territory.

  • A load-bearing design system track record. You've built or significantly evolved a system that became real infrastructure, and you can explain what you built, how teams adopted it, and what it changed for the org.

  • Hands-on AI fluency, not curiosity. You've built or led code-based prototypes with Claude Code, Cursor, v0, or the equivalent, and can walk through the trade-offs. You understand agentic patterns, context, critics, and evals — and how to develop them. This is a baseline expectation here, not a differentiator.

  • A cross-functional view of AI. You think about how to set AI up at the function level and across the seams with engineering and product, not just how to use it yourself.

  • A track record of growing senior ICs. Concrete examples: someone you levelled up, hard feedback you gave, a growth conversation that changed a trajectory. A formal Head title isn't required — leading 3+ people with a strong architectural mindset counts.

  • Systems thinking as your default. You ask why something is being built and how it fits the platform before you ask what it should look like.

  • Working proficiency in English.

What you'll get

  • A real impact. You're shaping the design org from the inside, not executing someone else's plan.

  • An AI-native environment. AI isn't a team or an initiative at TaxDome — it's how everyone works, from design to engineering to support. That's put them ahead of the market, and they intend to widen the gap.

  • A profitable, bootstrapped company. No VC pressure, no artificial growth targets. Engineering excellence and product quality over optics.

  • Real remote. Fully remote across European timezones, on a senior and globally distributed team.

"If you've been waiting for a place where design actually operates the way everyone keeps saying it will — this is it".
